This package is only available if all other matters including property division, child support, spousal support and parenting arrangements have been completed on your file, either by way of Court Order or agreement.

This package includes:

1. Drafting the claim for the divorce. 
2. Filing fees with the Court.
3. Drafting the supporting documentation for the divorce application, including Requisition, Certificate of Pleadings, Divorce Order and Affidavits in support of the divorce.
4. A copy of your Divorce Order.

For a divorce, you must bring an original copy of your marriage certificate issued by Vital Statistics. For information on how to obtain a marriage certificate if you do not have one, please visit Vital Statistics BC.

3. Negotiating the terms of the agreement.
4. Drafting the agreement.
5. Completing any needed changes to the agreement.
6. Witnessing your signature on the final agreement.
7. All communication and correspondence with our office.
8. All communication and correspondence with the opposing party or the opposing counsel.

As a lawyer, I cannot represent both parties in a family law matter – no matter how amicable you and your spouse are. This means, I can only meet with one spouse. I recommend the spouse I do not meet with obtains their own lawyer to receive independent legal advice.

Our mediation services are a flat fee of  $2500.00 (incl. taxes) per person and the parties may attend with or without counsel present.  Our mediation services include the following:

Pre-Mediation

These are individual 45-minute meetings with each participant where I learn about your primary areas of concerns, answer questions and screen to make sure mediation is a good process for you.

After the pre-mediation, I will gather the required documentation.

I also prepare the property schedules, support options and parenting plan information needed for the mediation.

Prior to the mediation, you will receive an agenda to know what to expect on the day.

Mediation

This is the dedicated time spent to working together to resolve the issues in dispute.

Our mediations are booked in sessions (up to six hours), which can be broken into more than one session (for example, 2 three hour sessions).

Documentation

After each session, you will receive a comprehensive document outlining areas of discussion and next steps.

If agreements are reached, you will have a written agreement that you can sign or take to a lawyer for review and advice. The flat fee covers one set of revisions per person.

The documentation cost is included in the mediation session price.

In the event more time is needed to resolve all matters than the included 6 hours of mediation time, additional time is charged hourly at $200.00 per person per hour.
